Ihtida — Terms of Service

In plain English: Ihtida is a free educational app for new Muslims, with an optional paid tier. Use it personally and lawfully, don't copy or resell it, and cancel a subscription any time through your Apple ID. The religious content is offered for learning — for rulings that affect your life, ask a qualified scholar.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ihtida ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms apply to everyone using Ihtida, on both the free and paid tiers.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Ihtida on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Copy, reproduce, resell, or redistribute the App or its content
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose

3. Religious Content

Ihtida provides educational material about Islam — lessons, prayer guidance, Quran text and recitation, and supporting references. This content is offered in good faith for learning purposes.

It is not a substitute for a qualified scholar. Islamic practice varies between schools of thought, and personal circumstances matter. For rulings that affect your religious obligations, please consult a knowledgeable scholar or your local imam.

Prayer times are calculated from your location using a third-party service and your chosen calculation method. Times may vary by method, and location accuracy depends on your device. Please verify against your local mosque where precision matters.

4. Purchases & Subscriptions

Core worship features — wudu, the prayer guide with recitation, prayer times, Qibla, tasbeeh and the salah surahs — are free permanently. Ihtida Pro is optional and unlocks additional depth and comfort features.

Ihtida Pro is offered as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends
• Manage or cancel any time at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies, not by us

5. Disclaimer of Warranty

Ihtida is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content, prayer times, or translations will be free of inaccuracies.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Ihtida after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
