1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Become app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms apply to all users of Become, including users on the free tier and premium subscribers. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of Become ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Use of the App

Become is a personal productivity and habit-tracking application designed for individual, non-commercial use. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, or sell access to any part of the App
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems related to the App
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App

We reserve the right to terminate your access to the App if you violate any of these restrictions.

3. Subscriptions & Purchases

Become offers optional paid subscriptions (monthly, yearly) and a one-time lifetime purchase, all processed through Apple's App Store using StoreKit.

Auto-renewal: Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal charges occur within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Cancellation: You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time via your Apple ID settings at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to have premium access until that date.

Refunds: All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. If you have an issue, contact Apple Support or request a refund via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Free Trial: Where offered, free trials give you full premium access for the trial duration. You will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. After the trial, you will be charged at the regular subscription rate.

Pricing changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. You will be notified of price changes before they take effect. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Free Tier

Become provides a free tier that allows you to track up to 9 habits across up to 3 identities, at no cost. On the free tier, one identity can be in Focus at a time — the rest remain fully saved in your library, with their history intact, until you focus on them again; Premium raises this to up to 3 identities in focus at once. Weekly Reflection and data export are available to every user, free or paid, with no restrictions.

The free tier is provided "as is" with no time limit. We reserve the right to change the limits or features of the free tier in future versions, with notice given through an app update.

5. Intellectual Property

All content within the App — including but not limited to the name "Become," its logo, UI design, illustrations, copy, and code — is the intellectual property of the developer and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The App will operate without interruption or be error-free
  • Any specific habit outcomes will be achieved through use of the App
  • The App will be available at any particular time or location
  • Defects will be corrected immediately

Become is a tool to assist with personal habit formation. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, mental health treatment, or therapeutic services. Always consult a qualified professional for health-related decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, or any other intangible losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

You may terminate your use of the App at any time by deleting it from your device(s). Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription — you must cancel separately through your Apple ID.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
